MEET THE ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

The Pittsgrove Township School District is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Emily Virga as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. A Pittsgrove resident, parent, and alumna of Arthur P. Schalick High School, Dr. Virga brings a "homegrown" perspective and over two decades of New Jersey educational leadership to the district.

"I am confident that Dr. Virga’s professional expertise and loyalty to Pittsgrove make her the ideal fit," said Board of Education President, Mrs. Susan Cushane-Miranda. "Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter as we continue our mission of Growing All Learners to Thrive."

Dr. Virga joins Pittsgrove from Kingsway Regional School District, where she served as Chief Academic Officer overseeing curriculum, assessment, and instructional technology. Her diverse career includes roles as Director of Virtual Learning, Middle School Assistant Principal, and Special Education teacher.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Emily Virga home,” stated Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. DuBois-Trembley. “Her expertise in instructional coherence and commitment to student-centered learning are precisely what our district needs to lead our curriculum team toward continued excellence.”

Dr. Virga is a Doctor of Education from Indiana University and holds an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University.
